Dundee Smart Care Convention 2017

Our co-design researchers presented some of their work at Dundee Smart Care Convention at Caird Hall Dundee. Having worked with older adults to customise and redesign wearable sensors to make them more acceptable and appealing for use in everyday life, our researchers showcased sample bespoke wearable designs as well as some design tools that were used to support ideation and creative development. Showcasing and discussing this work with other local researchers, organisations and visitors whose interest is also in promoting, supporting and innovating within health, wellbeing and care settings reinforced the value of our co-design process, highlighting the importance of usability and bringing the voice of the user to the fore.

Smart Care is a straightforward concept – we use advances in technology to help people.  This convention brought together people from the Dundee area and across Scotland to promote technology-enabled care.  The programme of talks and exhibitions cover different areas related to care and technology.  This convention aims to connect, inform, and celebrate those that are making a difference in in Dundee in the world of technological innovation. If attracted those involved in health or social care and are interested in advances in technology, the Internet of Things, or the developments in this field at a local and national level.  This free event was promoted by Dundee Voluntary Action.
